POLICE FOIL KIDNAP ATTEMPT, RESCUE 8 IN KADUNA.
Kaduna State Police Command have foiled a kidnap attempt along the dreaded Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari road and rescued 8 persons.
The operatives who were attached to Buruku Police Division on 21 July 2022 at about 1530hrs intercepted a large number of bandits while on a routine patrol between Udawa and Buruku villages along the Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari Highway.
Available report indicates the bandits forcefully stopped three commercial vehicles, whisked away the passengers, and headed to the forest.
The Operatives on sighting the gang of criminals immediately engaged them in a fierce chase amid an exchange of fire which ensued the bandits to flee into the forest with varying degrees of bullet wounds, abandoning the eight kidnapped victims behind.
The rescued victims were moved to Buruku Police Station where they were profiled, documented and escorted to their destination as concerted efforts are not spared in ensuring sanity of the road.
