POLICE RECOVER LIVE AMMUNITION FROM CRIMINAL HIDEOUT IN DELTA STATE, BEGINS MANHUNT FOR FLEEING SUSPECTS
The Delta State Police command on Monday March 15 recovered several live ammunition from a criminal hideout in Delta State.
The Divisional Police Command acting on intelligence gathering and monitoring recovered serviceable G 3 rifles with No. ET77645 with fifteen (15) rounds of live ammunition behind an uncompleted building used as a worship center at Warri/Sapele road by the garage opposite Wema Bank hidden by suspected criminals to perform their nefarious activities.
In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Edafe Bright, a manhunt for the criminals has commenced with the view of arresting them and bringing them to justice.
Also, a suspected robber was lynched by an angry mob in Mccaiver road, Warri, around 2pm on Monday.
After credible intelligence, one of the suspects identified as Ola Tuoyo who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital confessed to be a member of the robbery syndicate that Invaded Mccaiver road that night.
Similarly, on Sunday March 14, around 10.21am, the police command attached to the Ovwian Aladja Divisional patrol team arrested some hoodlums in the area.
They were arrested after the police team, who were on patrol sighted the criminals and engaged them in a gun duel forcing the hoodlums to escape into a nearby forest with gunshot wounds.
The hoodlums abandoned a cut-to-size locally made pistol with a live cartridge bag. The police recovered the exhibits and have commenced a manhunt for the fleeing criminals.
Also, on March 13, security operatives in Delta stormed a bush at Obogba village, Okapanam, where the initiation for new members of the Aye confraternity was taking place and arrested 16 suspects. One Toyota Camry car was also recovered by the security agents.
On March 12, the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) also stormed a notorious cultist hideout in Oghara, Delta State, arresting 15 suspected cultists in the process.
On March 9, 2021, a certain Precious Abia Azubule, who escaped from the Warri Correctional Center, during the EndSARS protest on October 22 was arrested by security operatives while on patrol.
The suspect was arraigned before a Magistrate court and has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.
