RESIDENTS IGNORE EXPLOSION THREAT, SCOOP FUEL FROM FALLEN TANKER ON FESTAC BRIDGE IN LAGOS

There is palpable fear at Amuwo Odofin Festac link Bridge area of Lagos State, as some residents defied possible explosion to scoop petroleum product from the scene of a fallen tanker.


The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 8, as the petrol laden tanker overturned and fell on the road.


Eyewitness account revealed that security operatives are currently at the scene to disperse residents.

In December 2017, no fewer than 20 vehicles and four commercial motorcycles burnt when a tanker laden with petrol fell and spilled its content on the Festac Link Bridge.

Just yesterday, November 7, men of the Lagos State fires service, Ogun state fire service, and Federal fires service battled a raging inferno when a petrol-laden tanker was gutted by fire on Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.


The explosion resulted in the death of 2 persons and the destruction of vehicles along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
