SENATE URGES PRESIDENT BUHARI TO SACK SERVICE CHIEFS

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, December 1, urged President Buhari to sack the country’s Service Chiefs as a result of the rise in insecurity.


This comes after Boko Haram terrorists gruesomely massacred about 43 farmers in Borno State on Saturday, November 28.


The upper chamber of the National Assembly also asked the President to restructure the nation’s security architecture, and negotiate with other neigbouring countries for multinational cooperation in order to strengthen the war against insurgency.

It directed the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to provide relief and psychological support for the families of the victims.


This development comes less than 24 hours after Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State asked the Federal Government to utilize mercenaries in clearing the Sambisa Forest.
