SHEHU OF DIKWA SHOWERS ENCOMIUM ON TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI DURING GOC OPERATIONAL VISIT


The Shehu of Dikwa, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Abba Jato Shehu Umar, has showered 

high praise on troops of 7 Division/Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) for their zeal and commitment in fighting against Boko Haram Terrorists and their Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP) counterparts in Dikwa which has built the confidence of the entire civil populace in his domain.

The Royal Father gave the commendation on Tuesday, 7 February, 2023 when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK Major General Waidi Shaibu paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Dikwa. In his words, " we will continue to remain indebted to the Nigerian Military for their continuous and consistent efforts in debasing the terrorists and their nefarious activities in our communities. He added that "these efforts have not only brought freedom and sanity to us, but have also created a safer atmosphere for peaceful social and economic activities to thrive as seen in the recent past". 


While praying for an unparalleled victory for the military in all her operations, he gave his assurances that the people of Dikwa would give all the necessary cooperation and support required to the military, especially in areas of intelligence gathering and prompt information sharing to further boost the operational activities of the Army.

In his remarks, General Shaibu expressed delight over the warm reception accorded him and his entourage and averred that the Division would not relent in her efforts in keeping the peace while protecting the lives and properties of the people of Dikwa against the insurgents. The GOC said " we have been doing our best in the fight against insurgency especially in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, we implore you and your people to share meangingful information with us and expose sympathisers of the terrorists within your domain. We will not rest on our oars untill we completely destroy theses terrorists in the general area.

In a related development, the GOC paid an operational visit to Headquarters 24 Task Force Brigade to assess the combat readiness and operational posture of the Brigade and battalions under command. 


The GOC who was received on arrival by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General AM Usman, charged the troops to remain dogged, committed and steadfast at all times, adding that the war against insurgency must be fought with high sense of professionalism and preparedness. He further emphasized the mandate of the Division to clear its general area of operation of all terrorists and other criminals, especially as the nation is heading towards the general elections. 


Present during the visit were the Commander, 24 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General AM Usman, Formations and Units Commanders, Principal Staff Officers of the Division amongst others.
