HOUSE OF REPS OPPOSE CASTRATION OF RAPISTS

The House of Representatives on Thursday, June 4 voted against the prayer seeking for the castration of convicted rapists.

Mr James Faleke, the House of Reps member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, during plenary recommended that persons found guilty of rape should be castrated to curb the rising cases of sexual violence in Nigeria.

However, the House opposed the prayer but asked the Inspector General of Police to immediately commence an investigation into the cases of Uwa Omozuwa, Tina Ezekwe, and other reported cases of violence against women and girls.
