ARMED JIHADIST ATTACKS TOWN, HOISTS ISIS FLAG IN CITY CENTRE

Islamist militants on Thursday, May 28 launched three simultaneous attacks on Macomia town in Mozambique and hoisted ISIS flag at the city centre.

Sources say the attack which began early in the morning forced the residents in the community to flee, as about 120 -150 jihadists attacked the town.

According to AFP, security forces withdrew from the area because of the intensity of the attacks.

On Saturday, Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi said that the Mozambican security forces might have killed the leaders of the Islamist militants responsible for Thursday’s attack.
