Air Chief Urges Troops in Birnin Gwari to Stay Vigilant, United in Protecting Civilians
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has urged frontline troops of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deployed in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, to remain vigilant, resolute, and united in their mission to safeguard civilians against bandits and insurgents.
The charge was delivered on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, during the commissioning of worship centres and welfare projects at the 4135 Force Protection Wing in Birnin Gwari. The commissioned facilities include Christian and Muslim worship centres, a mini-mart, and a quarter guard stand, all executed in line with the CAS’s philosophy of prioritising personnel welfare to enhance operational effectiveness.
Representing the CAS, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, commended the troops for their sacrifices and professionalism, noting that their efforts have brought relative calm to previously troubled communities.
AVM Dari stressed that the troops’ mission extends beyond combat to protecting innocent civilians, building community trust, and ensuring lasting peace. “The communities we protect are safer today because of your efforts,” he said, urging them to remain cohesive, disciplined, and supportive of one another in the field.
He also assured the personnel of the CAS’s unwavering support, highlighting that the newly commissioned projects reflect NAF’s determination to balance combat readiness with the welfare and spiritual needs of its troops.
The Nigerian Air Force reiterated its commitment to strengthening operational effectiveness while fostering stronger bonds with the communities it serves.
