STOP CALLING FRIDAY BLACK- KANO HISBAH WRITES COOL FM OVER BLACK FRIDAY SALES, THREATENS ACTION
Kano State Hisbah Board has written to Cool FM, a radio station in the State over their Black Friday sales and requested that they stop calling Friday "Black Friday" because it is against the Islamic law.
Hisbah, a religious corps responsible for the enforcement of Sharia law, in a letter dated November 26, ordered the radio station to stop the act with immediate effect as Fiday is considered a Holy Day for Muslims.
The letter read:"I am directed to write and notify you that the office is in receipt of complaint for the conduct of BLACK FRIDAY SALES on 27 November, 2020 instant.

"Accordingly, we wish to express our concern on the tagging of the Friday as "Black Friday and further inform you that the majority of the inhabitants of Kano state are Muslims that consider Friday as Holy Day.
"In view of the foregoing you are requested to stop the calling the day as Black Friday with immediate effect and note that Hisbah corps will be around for surveillance purposes with a view lo avoiding occurrence of any immoral activities as well as maintaining peace, harmony and stability in the state"
