Eons intelligence has received multiple reports alleging that some village heads in certain Bauchi villages are harbouring strange herdsmen suspected to be bandits in their localities.
Most notable among the identified heads are: the village head of Sarkin Zagaina, Mallam Buba in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi State, Mamman Sarkin Boggirde of Tubule ward, Kirfi LGA and the
Sarkin Tubule District Head.
Another Intelligence source also revealed on October 21, that the village heads: Sarkin Zagaina, Mallam Buba in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi was currently accommodating strangers/herdsmen suspected to be bandits fleeing from Zamfara State due to recent military onslaught.
It was also reported that eight sophisticated weapon-carrying men were being harboured at Furaka village, under Zagaina area in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi State. The suspected criminals, namely - Maikudi Shedan and Mallanyo are based in Bogirde, Tubule ward in Kirfi LGA.
Local sources revealed that the suspected bandits intend to establish a camp inside Boduje forest. Boduje is boundary area between Bauchi and Gombe State. The suspects are believed to be Kidnappers terrorising Alkaleri LGA, Bogirde and Tubule wards in Kirfi LGA.
One of the biggest security challenges wjth Bauchi State presently is the unchecked influx of strangers/herdsmen unidentified strangers, in the guise of herders. Some, if not most of these herdsmen are suspected to be bandits escaping from the current ongoing military Operations in Zamfara and Kaduna States.
Their hide outs are no longer safe. It has been reliably gathered that they are in search of new base areas. Nonetheless, it is believed that the village heads identified for accommodating known criminals are their collaborators.
Therefore, it is advised that Security Agencies in the State should quickly respond and act accordingly before there is a complete break down of law and order in those areas.
