TARABA RECORDS TWO NEW CASES OF COVID-19
Taraba State has recorded two more cases of COVID-19, Commissioner for Information, Danjuma Adamu announced on Wednesday.
Adamu, who is also a member of the Taskforce on COVID-19 in the State, said one of the cases is from Wukari Local Government area while the other positive case is an almajiri.
The commissioner revealed that the Taraba State Government had received 88 almajiris from Nasarawa state. They (almajiris) were quarantined at the NYSC Orientation Camp and samples from them were taken to Abuja for testing. The result of one of them came out positive, but the 87 of them tested negative.
He however said the 87 almajiris will remain in the isolation centre at the NYSC Orientation Camp for the mandatory 14 days, while awaiting the result of their second test from the NCDC, Abuja.
Adamu, who briefed pressmen in Government House Jalingo, disclosed that six patients, whose summative results tested negative, were discharged from the State’s quarantine centres.
He said: “Taraba State now has two new positive cases, out of the 89 samples taken to the NCDC, Abuja.
“One of the 88 almajiris tested positive. But the rest are negative. Another sample from Wukari local government area also tested positive,” Adamu said.
