IPPIS: FUEL SCARCITY IMMINENT AS PENGASSAN EMBARK ON INDEFINITE STRIKE

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria PENGASSAN has commenced an indefinite industrial action in protest against the "shoddy" manner their members were included in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Management System IPPIS.

According to a communique issued to all PENGASSAN branch chairmen, titled ‘Redundancy in Baker Hughes on IPPIS Implementation And Redundancy in Baker Hughes’, "all members have been advised to withdraw their services effective midnight on Sunday, November 8 2020."

The senior oil workers had earlier embarked on a 3-day warning strike to air their grievance over the manner the salaries of their members were paid alleging that huge sums of monies were deducted from their salaries.
