Troops Recover Weapons, Ammunition in Plateau State Raid
Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP) have recovered arms and ammunition during an intelligence-led raid on a suspected gunrunner’s hideout in Plateau State.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of Monday, 15 September 2025, targeted a location in Kurra Berom Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. Items recovered include one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, and 38 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.
Although the suspects fled before troops arrived, security forces confirmed that efforts are underway to track and apprehend them.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed that troops of 3 Division/JTF OPEP will sustain aggressive operations against gunrunning and other forms of criminality to enhance security across the Joint Operations Area.
