TROOPS STORM TERRORIST HIDEOUTS IN SAMBISA, BAMA, KILL SCORES OF BH/ISAWP COMMANDERS, RECOVER WEAPONS

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have reportedly neutralised scores of terrorists at Sambisa forest and Bama, this weekend.

This offensive is part of a continued intensification of the Military onslaught on terrorists’ enclaves in the North East.

The Military, on Saturday, 30th of October, observed the movement of six Gun Trucks within the forest. They were later ambushed at a location, near Yuwe. The enemy trucks later moved to a remote location, where they other suspected criminals joined them in what looked like a meeting.

The gathering had more than 50 Boko Haram/ ISWAP fighters in attendance. After all clearance and rules of engagement protocols were observed, the Air Component of OPHK "Immediately dispatched two aircrafts to conduct air interdiction on the location", the Military announced.

The Military air assaults were carried out under the cover of darkness. Over 37 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralized in that operation. Several of them were said to have suffered varying degrees of injury.

In separate Operations, members of the same troops (OPHK), recorded another success over insurgents at Bama and its neighbouring forests.

Battle Damage Assessment and local sources confirmed that over 50 BokoHaram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralized in those battles. Weapons were recovered and some gunboats destroyed.

The onslaught was joint a Security Operation which also involved the ground and air assets. After the Operation, it was established that some of the terrorists high ranking commanders met their Waterloo.

"It was confirmed that high ranking Commanders of ISWAP including Baba Yuram, Abou Barra, Abou Salma, Bukar KARUBE, Usman Kaka were killed in the attack in Bama LGA. The death toll for ISWAP in Bama is 36 including top commanders."

In a related development, the Military aircrafts, while returning to base, located another set of four Gun Trucks, about six Kilometers South West of Bama. The air crew relayed the co-ordinates of the location of the Gun Trucks to the ground troops at Bama. They engaged the location with Artillery fire and neutralized the insurgents' gun trucks.

The Military stated that these Operations would not have been so successful without the a tibe collaboration of other Security Agencies, under the auspices of Operation HADIN KAI. It also said that the spirit of synergy and co-operation aiming the Forces is the requisite for a successful fight against terrorism and insurgency.
