TWO MORE COVID-19 CASES CONFIRMED IN FMC, ABEOKUTA

Two more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba Abeokuta, Ogun State. 


Earlier on Sunday, May 24, three coronavirus cases and one death were recorded at the same facility. 


The FMC spokesman, Segun Orisajo who confirmed the development, said that the two new cases were males. 


He said the first is a 36-year-old male, who lives in Ifo. 


"He was referred from a private hospital on account of the difficulty in breathing and sore throat. He was admitted in the centre last Thursday and subsequently screened on an outpatient basis", said Orisajo. 


He added that the second patient is a 46-year-old man who leaves in Akure, Abeokuta, and was equally referred to the facility last week Thursday following rising fever and difficulty in breathing. 


According to Orisajo, the patients will be evacuated to the Ogun State Isolation Centre for proper treatment.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday, May 25, Ogun has recorded 240 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
