BOKO HARAM INSURGENTS RAZES HOSPITAL, TELECOMS MAST IN MAGUMERI, BORNO

Suspected Boko Haram Insurgents on Monday, August 17 attacked Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno, killing one and destroying the infrastructures in the state. 


The terrorists invaded the Magumeri which is about 42 km from Maiduguri, the state capital at about 4.00 PM and immediately began shooting sporadically in the air, sources say. 

The newly equipped General hospital in the state was set ablaze by the terrorists.


The insurgents burned the general hospital in the local government, a telecoms mast and other infrastructures in the town. While a tractor donated to farmers by the Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum was seized.

Sources say despite military’s air assault on the terrorists, the criminals ransacked the town for about 2 hours.

A lactating mother lost her life during the exchange of gunfire between the terrorists and the military while an undisclosed amount of people suffered varying degrees of injuries, sources say. 


Boko Haram terrorists have been terrorising the northeastern part of Nigeria, especially Borno State for over a decade.

Last month, the terrorists shot at the convoy of the Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
