TWO SUSPECTED ROBBERS ARRESTED IN OGUN STATE DURING ROBBERY
The Ogun State Police Command, Ajuwon Division has arrested two suspected armed robbers in the State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known in his statement on Tuesday, May 19.
Oyeyemi said the DPO Ajuwon Division, Andrew Akinseye mobilised his anti-robbery team to the scene of the crime after a distress call was received about three-man robbery gang who invaded the community and were shooting sporadically.
The suspects identified as Evans Iyam and Adedayo Taiwo were arrested during a robbery operation at Damsalam Street in Ajuwon on May 16 2020.
The robbers ran when they saw the Police approaching while angry community members chased them.
One of the three robbers was on standby on a motorcycle to escape the other two.
Unfortunately for the gang, two members were caught by the community members and Police while the third escaped.
The duo confessed to the Police that they came from Ishashi in Lagos State to carry out the Robbery.
A locally made short gun was recovered from the culprits.
Kenneth Ebrimson, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), adding that the member who fled would be apprehended soon.
