UNKNOWN GUNMEN KIDNAP MONARCH IN ABOH MBAISE LGA OF IMO
Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Damian Nwaigwe, the Traditional Ruler of Mbutu Kingdom in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
This is coming exactly 24 hours after gunmen suspected to be IPOB militants killed two persons in Etekwuru autonomous community in the Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.
The Monarch was kidnapped around 2am on Thursday midnight after the assailants invaded his palace.
Sources say the assailants, numbering about 10, shot sporadically before whisking the Monarch into a vehicle parked outside the premises.
The Imo State Police PRO, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the development, and said the command has commenced investigations into the incident and also a manhunt has begun to rescue the Monarch unhurt.

In October 2021, Eons Intelligence reported that IPOB militants set the palace of the traditional ruler of the Etekwuru community in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on fire. Also, his private car, a highlander jeep, and other property were razed during the attack.
