UPDATE: ABDUCTED KANKARA SCHOOL BOYS LEAVE KATSINA GOVERNMENT HOUSE FOR THE HOSPITAL

The abducted Kankara schoolboys have left the State House where they met with Governor Aminu Masari.


Recall that the schoolboys arrived at the Government House earlier today.


They are now being taken to the hospital for medical treatment.


The 344 school children who were kidnapped from their school by bandits were released on Thursday afternoon but spent hours navigating the unmotorable road out of the forest.


The children were made to spend the night under heavy military protection in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state on Thursday as they were weak and tired after spending 6 nights with little food in captivity.


Some of the children could be seen limping on Friday while walking into the Katsina State Government house.

The release of the school children was midwived by Government officials led by Governor Aminu Masari and the Department of State Security (DSS).


The Nigeria military in collaboration with local vigilantes worked tirelessly to ensure the bandits could not leave the perimeter or trade the boys with Boko Haram's Shekau who wanted to use the boys to push his terrorist propaganda.
