UPDATE: NIMC SHUTS DOWN ALAUSA OFFICE OVER SECOND WAVE OF COVID-19
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has shut down its office in the Alausa area of Lagos State due to the second wave of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Eons Intelligence had earlier reported that multitude of people stormed the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) office in Alausa, Lagos State.
It was gathered that NIMC shut down its system and asked people to return to their respective destinations.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government on December 15 issued a two-week ultimatum to all mobile networks in the country to block all Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs) without National Identification Number (NIN).
On December 16, the House of Representatives asked the NCC to extend the two-week ultimatum to ten weeks but the Commission is yet to rescind its directive.
The Lagos State Government had on Friday announced that it has banned Concerts, carnivals, and street parties until further notice. It also ordered the closure of all schools in the State due to a surge in Covid-19 infections.
