WE DID NOT SPEND #1Bn ON SMS - NCDC
The NCDC has issued a disclaimer over a viral caption suggesting that it spent 1Bilion Naira on Short Messaging Service popular known as sms to Nigerians over the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The agency in its message this morning disclaimed the viral message and stated that all messages were sent out to Nigerians free of charge courtesy of the Mobile telecommunication companies in Nigeria. It listed the companies to include Airtel Networks, MTN Nigeria and Glo Mobile.
It therefore enjoins Nigerians to discountenance the message and always check it’s social media handles for valid information.
