(VIDEO) WEEKLY SECURITY DASHBOARD FOR THE PERIOD JULY 25, 2021 - JULY 30, 2021: CIRCLE OF VIOLENCE

Like a spider, insecurity spreads her webs, giving a faint foretaste of damnation even up to the sky where the rough sea rarely smiles. Within the above context, we embark on a diversionary route from the basic norms of unprecedented pre-mature deaths and wanton destruction left intermittently in the wake of cult clashes, banditry, and gunmen attacks, to beam the searchlight on the vogue that broke the camel’s back in this week’s Circle of Violence.

Democracy in every country comes with rights and privileges. One of which is the right to PROTEST. However, many protesters within the jurisdiction called Nigeria seem to embark on this “rightful” journey without a guarantee of return in sight. One such category is the case of the Sahara Publisher, who narrowly escaped prolonged detention during the trial of Nnamdi Kanu on Monday, July 26, 2021. However, what remains the fate of the IPOB detainees or several others who may not be so “connected” to escape detention?

The lessons remain evergreen in the Nation’s history of the outcome of poor handling of #ENDSARS protests and the extinguishing of the match flame with fuel-doused substance, as was the case that trailed the death of the Boko Haram leader.

Remember, the poor handling of a segment in the circle of INSECURITY might spiral endlessly around the Circle of Violence.
