UPDATE: VIDEO WHICH SHOWS MEN IN MILITARY UNIFORM BEAT, MURDER NAKED WOMAN WAS DOCTORED- ARMY
A viral video showing men in military uniform beat, murder a woman is fake, Mozambique Defence Minister Jaime Neto has said.
Speaking on national television on Wednesday, September 16, Jaime Nato claimed the video was doctored to make the military look bad.
Recall Eons Intelligence reported that the Mozambique army promised to investigate a viral video that showed men in military uniform beat and murder a naked woman at Cabo Delgado province.
In the video, men clad in military uniform could be heard taunting a naked woman in Portuguese calling her 'al-Shabaab'- an Islamist insurgent group.
As she pled for mercy, one of the men hit her repeatedly with a stick and then others shot her.
Amnesty International as well as other humanitarian agencies have condemned the video calling on Mozambique's authorities to investigate the killing.

The defence ministry in a statement released on Monday, September 14 promised to verify the authenticity of the video, describing it as "horrifying".
On Wednesday, the Defence Minister said the video was edited by "malicious people" trying to destroy the image of the military, adding that they have been identified.
Neto did not disclose the identity of the culprits but promised to parade and punish them publicly.
The video emerged amid allegations of grave human right violations committed by security forces in Cabo Delgado.
On September 9, Amnesty International said it had verified videos and photos showing: "the attempted beheading, torture and other ill-treatment of prisoners; the dismemberment of alleged opposition fighters; possible extrajudicial executions; and the transport and discarding of a large number of corpses into apparent mass graves."
However, the Mozambique government debunked Amnesty's report claiming the insurgent usually impersonates security officials to incite public outrage and get international attention.
