The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured all 13 chairmanship positions in the recent local government elections held in Nasarawa State, covering a total of 147 wards. Barr. He noted that the electoral process was peaceful and expressed gratitude to the voters for their commitment to fostering democracy at the grassroots level. Usman highlighted that the elections demonstrated the accessibility and cooperation of all stakeholders in promoting political participation in the state.

Despite concerns about voter apathy, he reported a strong turnout, attributing it to community consensus. The participation of 14 political parties in the elections reflects their confidence in the process, and Usman noted that technological advancements contributed to a seamless and efficient electoral experience.

The success of the elections, according to Usman, was a result of robust awareness campaigns by the Commission, collaboration with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), and the unwavering efforts of security agencies to maintain peace and order. He reaffirmed NASIEC’s commitment to upholding democracy by ensuring transparent and credible election outcomes.

Of the two councillorship seats won by the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), both are located in the Doma local government area, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) secured four seats in Nasarawa-Eggon and one in Keffi local government area.
