Sexual Misconduct Costs Four Kogi Varsity Lecturers Their Jobs
The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, has approved the dismissal of four lecturers due to involvement in examination misconduct and sexual harassment. This decision was made during the council’s Second Meeting on Thursday, following an investigation into allegations made against the lecturers last year.
Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the council's chairman, commended the university management for adhering to due process throughout the investigation. He emphasized that the council would not tolerate any unethical behavior within the university and urged for swift action on other pending cases, particularly one involving the Faculty of Science that has gained media attention.
The council also issued a warning to staff and lecturers against any form of student harassment and assured that no misconduct would be overlooked. Additionally, students were encouraged to report any instances of molestation.
