19 DEAD, SEVERAL INJURED AS BANDITS LOOT SHOPS AND BURN HOUSES IN KADUNA

Bandits on Saturday carried out two separate attacks in Birnin Gwari and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna State leaving at least 19 people dead and several others injured. 


Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs confirmed that the bandits killed 14 persons at Kutemeshi village in Birnin Gwari while five 5 others were killed at Kujeni village in Kajuru on the same day. 


The names of persons killed in Birnin Gwari local government are: Malan Sani Barume, Yahaya Bello, Amadu Dan Korau, Samaila Niga, Jamilu Haruna, Lawal Majiya And Dan Malam Rabo. Others are Dauda Kafinta, Hassan Mai Makani, Bashir Haruna, Lawal Ali, Mu’azu Haruna, Mai Unguwa Sa’adu and Harisu Bako.


The five people killed in Kujeni, Kajuru local government area are: Bulus Jatau, Hanatu Emmanuel, Bitrus Tuna, Yohanna Mika, and Monday Ayuba.


The assailants also burnt several houses, storehouses with foodstuff, warehouses loaded with building materials, including a Church.


Condoling with the families of the deceased, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sorrow over the incident while praying for the repose of the souls of the departed. 


The governor also prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured victims.
