PREMIER LEAGUE CONFIRMS SIX CASES OF CORONAVIRUS FROM THREE TEAMS

The Premier League has detected six confirmed cases of Coronavirus from a total of three teams.

The six cases came back positive out of a total of 748 tests carried out on players and club staff on Sunday and Monday.

"The Premier League can today confirm that, on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19." the league said in a statement.

However, the league did not identify the individuals who tested positive.

As part of the league's effort to return to the pitch, it is administering tests on all players and staff with an eye toward a resumption of group training.

Premier League clubs began returning to training in small groups on Tuesday after a meeting of shareholders approved the plans on Monday.
