UK GOVERNMENT APPROVES MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE FOR USE

The UK Government has approved the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for use.

Moderna, a US-based company announced on November 16 that its vaccine was 94% efficient against COVID-19.

Reports indicate that the UK has already ordered seven million doses of the jab with a further 10 million expected to follow but it will  not be available until March 2021.

This is because it is being manufactured in the US at first, and will take a few months before manufacturing facilities in Europe will be ready to distribute.

"While we immunise those most at risk from COVID, I urge everyone to continue following the rules to keep cases low to protect our loved ones," UK Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, said.

The Moderna vaccine has become the third coronavirus jab to be approved for use in the UK amid growing concerns of a new COVID-19 strain.

Recall that Eons Intelligence reported on December 2 that the UK Government approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for public use.

As of January 8, the UK has recorded 2.89 million cases of COVID-19 and 78,508 deaths. The surge in COVID-19 cases in the UK has prompted authorities to impose its second lockdown for another six weeks.
