GUNMEN ATTACK POLICE STATIONS, KILL FOUR OFFICERS, RAZE PATROL VEHICLE IN ANAMBRA

Unknown gunmen on Wednesday attacked two police stations in Anambra State, killing four officers and razing down a patrol van.


A video clip captured online by Eons Intelligence showed the bodies of the slain officers dumped by the roadside.


Eons Intelligence gathered that the attacks occurred in Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North Local Government Area around 11:30 on Wednesday, 24th February 2021.



It was gathered that while two policemen were killed in Mkpologwu, two were also killed in the Omogho attack.



According to a statement by Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, Anambra State Command, the gunmen who drove in both a salon car and a black Mercedes Benz 4Matic SUV, opened fire on the policemen deployed to patrol the two locations.

Mohammed said the State Commissioner of Police, Monday Kuryas, has visited the two spots to ascertain the level of damage.


Meanwhile, CP Kuryas has ordered for discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.


CP Monday Bala Kuryas during his maiden Press conference on 23rd February promised to tackle the menace of armed robbery, kidnapping, illegal revenue collections and other security challenges in the State.
