GUNMEN ATTACK POLICE STATION IN ANIOCHA SOUTH LGA OF DELTA, KILL THREE POLICE OFFICERS AND SET STATION ABLAZE
Reports indicate that gunmen on Monday attacked the Nsukwa Police Station in Aniocha South LGA of Delta, killing three officers and setting the station ablaze.
Sources say the assailants invaded the police facility around 2am on Monday morning, shot sporadically to scare residents, and inflicted injuries on some of the officers.
It was gathered that the attackers also set motorcycles ablaze in the police station, destroyed several vehicles, and also carted away ammunition.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Ari Ali, who confirmed the attack, said the command lost three officers, describing it as a black day for the command.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar attack by unknown gunmen on a police station in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State, during which three police officers were killed.
