ONDO AMOTEKUN ARRESTS THREE MEMBERS OF KIDNAP SYNDICATE

Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, have arrested three members of a kidnap syndicate, operating along Owo /Ose area of the State.


The suspects were arrested after kidnapping a famous business magnate, Mr Kunle Agbayewa in a popular saw-mill in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020.


It was gathered that the hoodlums invaded the sawmill and abducted Agbeyewa in his office.


The business man’s abduction comes 24 hours after the Chief Medical Director of the General Hospital, Idoani, Olufemi Adeogun, and two other health workers were abducted along the same axis.


It was learnt that the alarm raised by the residents of the area attracted Men of Amotekun who raced to the scene of the incident and arrested three of the hoodlums while the victim was rescued unhurt.

An eyewitness, Comfort Ilesanmi, revealed that the kidnappers were Fulani herdsmen and said, they entered the sawmill and kidnapped him immediately but people around quickly raised the alarm and the Amotekun personnel were invited to the scene.


Confirming the arrest of the kidnappers, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the State, Adetunji Adeleye, said the victim was rescued by his personnel after he was abducted by the suspects


Adeleye said; “Our men (Amotekun Corps) led the police and soldiers to rescue the victim this morning shortly after we heard the news of his kidnap.

“After foiling their kidnap plot, we arrested the three men before handing them over to the police. They have begun giving confessional statements.”


The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Tee Leo lkoro confirmed the arrest of the suspects.


Ikoro said six suspected kidnappers were eventually arrested in the forest and that police detectives are still searching the forest to rescue the medical doctor and two other health workers abducted on Monday.
