GANDUJE URGES BUHARI TO RELAX LOCKDOWN OVER RAMADAN
Ganduje has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to relax the 14 days lockdown imposed on the state.
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday 27, had ordered a total lockdown on Kano due to spike in coronavirus cases and strange deaths, which has not been traced to any form of the disease.
While addressing the newly inaugurated experts to support the state Task Force Technical Committee, Ganduje restated that the lockdown should be eased for a while to help alleviate the suffering of its residents and most especially in the Holy month of Ramadan.
“We are making this appeal on behalf of our people who are presently running out of food items. We would love the Federal government to relax the lockdown for a period of time to enable people to stock their homes, especially now that majority of us are fasting. It will also ease the economic hardship in the state.”
Earlier, Ganduje accused the Federal Government of neglect. He alleged that the FG was not supporting Kano state in combating the spread of Coronavirus

Meanwhile, Kano State as of yesterday, on Thursday, 30th April, recorded the highest cases in the country.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on 30th April, Kano recorded 80 new cases bringing the total cases in the state to 219.
