FG HAS FAILED NIGERIA, KADUNA LAWMAKER LAMENTS

Honorable Gabriel Saleh, representing Kachia Kagarko Federal Constituency, has condemned the Federal Government over the incessant killings in Southern Kaduna saying it has failed Nigeria.

Saleh’s lamentation comes two days after suspected Fulani herdsmen massacred about 10 persons and an ECWA Pastor in Zipkak Community despite a 24-hour curfew imposed by the State Government.

The Lawmaker said this during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on July 27th, 2020.

Saleh revealed that he is heartbroken as over 60 persons have been killed by bandits and terrorists in the last two weeks.

He stated that residents of the State have been displaced following the rampant onslaught of innocent families.

“In my village which is called Jabon Tudu, there was a threat. Everyone left his house, for the past one week nobody is sleeping at home.

“So I feel the Federal Government has failed Nigeria. Our people are crying and suffering, over 40 people were killed in less than two weeks,” he said.

While describing the assailants as terrorists, he wondered why they will just attack innocent people and kill them just like that.

The lawmaker urged the Federal Government to deploy security personnel to the affected regions in order to neutralize and nullify future attacks.

He recalled that the House of Representatives passed a resolution that mandated President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the nation’s service chiefs over the declining state of insecurity in several parts of Nigeria.

Speaking further, Saleh said Nigerians voted President Buhari in 2015 because he promised to tackle the numerous security challenges at the time.

He added that Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, openly lamented the spate of insecurity in his State, Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna, yet nothing has been done.

According to the umbrella body of Southern Kaduna people, Southern Kaduna People’s Union, 63 people have been killed in the past one week by the unknown assailants.
