OBASEKI DOES NOT DESERVE A SECOND TERM IN OFFICE – OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU

Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, says Godwin Obaseki, Governor of the State, does not deserve a second term in office.

Ize-Iyamu said this while speaking during his ward-to-ward campaign at Ogwa, Esan west and Amahor, Igueben Local Government Areas of the state on Monday, September 7th, 2020.

He said Obaseki has misused his chances of being re-elected as Governor.

Ize-Iyamu disclosed that the Governor has failed to fulfill his electoral promises, thereby betraying the trust of people.

The APC candidate accused Obaseki of moving to PDP over fears of being held accountable for his actions.

Ize-Iyamu said; “The governor did nothing for Edo people for almost four years and does not deserve a second term because he will also not work for the people.

“We will bring more roads and employ teachers in your schools. In the area of Manpower development, our women need more than wrappers, they need money to support their businesses.”

At Udo, Igueben council, Ize-Iyamu vowed to construct the road linking the community to the town.

He assured residents of quality education, manpower, economic and infrastructural development, if elected.

Although 14 candidates would participate in the gubernatorial elections slated for September 19th, 2020, the race would be keenly contested between Ize-Iyamu and Obaseki.

In his remarks, Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo, said he withdrew support for Obaseki over alleged failure to boost infrastructural development.

Oshiomhole said Obaseki could not deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo state.
