UPDATE: DOCTORS EMBARK ON INDEFINITE STRIKE

The Members of the National Association Resident Doctors (NARD) have embarked on an indefinite strike.

Recall that Eons Intelligence had reported on June 8th, 2020, that doctors nationwide were set to commence a strike action.

Dr Aliyu Sokomba, the Association President, made this known while addressing newsmen on Monday, June 15, in Abuja.

Sokomba said members managing COVID-19 cases across the country are exempted from the strike.

He threatened that if the Federal Government fails to fulfil its promise on payment of special allowances to the members in the next two weeks, the COVID-19 doctors will join the strike.

He added that the Federal Government has failed to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for members handling COVID-19 cases.

Sokomba noted that this has exposed many of their colleagues to the disease and resulted to the death of some health workers.
