
NAF Appoints Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame as New Spokesperson, Redeploys AVM Akinboyewa
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has appointed Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame as its new spokesperson, succeeding Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa, who has been redeployed as the Director of Civil-Military Relations at the Defence Headquarters.
Air Commodore Ejodame is a seasoned officer with extensive experience in logistics, strategic planning, and defence management. A member of the 45th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Transport and Logistics, and a PhD in Information Systems and Management Studies from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
His career includes advanced military training, such as logistics courses at the United Nations International Peace Support Operations Centre in Kenya and the Erasmus Intensive Programme in Portugal. He also trained at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, and the Air Force War College, Makurdi, where he emerged as the Best Graduating Participant. He has received prestigious awards from the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Air Staff at the National Defence College, Abuja.
Air Commodore Ejodame has held several key positions, including Directing Staff roles at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the National Defence College. He was the Pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, and also served as its Director of Procurement. Additionally, he played a diplomatic role as Nigeria’s Defence Adviser at the High Commission in Malaysia, overseeing defence relations with nine other countries.
A scholar and public relations expert, Ejodame is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is also a Fellow of the Air Force War College, the National Defence College, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria.
His appointment is expected to strengthen NAF’s public relations and strategic communication, reinforcing the service’s commitment to professionalism and transparency.
