US ELECTION:GEORGIA COURT DISMISSES TRUMP LAWSUIT OVER LATE BALLOTS
A court in Georgia has dismissed a lawsuit by the State Republican Party and US President Donald Trump’s campaign that alleged dozens of late ballots were added with on-time ballots.
Chatham County Superior Court Judge, James Bass said:"Having read and considered said petition, all arguments and evidence of record, including the evidence presented at the hearing, and the applicable law.
"The Court finds that there is no evidence that the ballots referenced in the petition were received after 7:00 p.m. on election day, thereby making those ballots invalid.
"Additionally, there is no evidence that the Chatham County Board of Elections or the Chatham County Board of Registrars has failed to comply with the law.
"WHEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED that the above petition is DISMISSED"
The suit had raised concerns about 53 absentee ballots that poll observers said were not part of an original batch of ballots. But County elections officials testified that all 53 ballots had been received on time.
Democratic nominee Joe Biden on Friday, has taken over President Donald Trump in the key State of Georgia.
The votes counted in Georgia shows that Biden has the lead in the State by 917 votes.
However, Biden needs to win two of Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia or win Pennsylvania to emerge winner of the election.
