JIGAWA REOPENS BORDERS, COVID-19 PATIENTS NOW ONE

The Jigawa State Government has said it has reopened all it's borders in the State as it's has just one active COVID-19 patient left.


Governor of Jigawa, Mohammed Badru, made the announcement at a news conference in Dutse today.


The Reopening of the borders comes a week after the State Government reopened all markets in the State which were shut two months ago.


“We have only one coronavirus patient with active disease while the remaining in the isolation centre have recovered and been discharged," Governor Badru said.


Governor Badru added that the State had closed the Fanisau Isolation Centre temporarily pending when a new case would be recorded.

However, he said that schools in the State remains closed pending when the situation of the Coronavirus pandemic improved in the country.


As of June 20th, 2020, according to the NCDC, Jigawa has recorded 317 cases of COVID-19.


Of the 317 cases, 316 has been discharged, and 6 deaths has been recorded.
