Zulum Dissolves Borno Executive Council, Relieves Commissioners of Duties
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has dissolved the State Executive Council and relieved all commissioners of their duties with immediate effect.
The move, according to the state government, is intended to allow any affected officials who wish to contest in the 2027 general elections to do so without occupying executive positions.
The governor directed the former commissioners to hand over the administration of their ministries to the respective Permanent Secretaries no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.
Zulum also expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service, acknowledging their contributions to the development of the state.
