#ENDSARS: LAGOS STATE JUDICIAL PANEL VISITS LEKKI TOLL GATE FOR INSPECTION, RECOVERS SIX BULLET SHELLS

The judicial panel appointed by the Lagos State Government to investigate police abuses and the shooting at the Lekki toll gate, has recovered six bullet shells from the scene of the incident.


The visitation was done on Friday, October 30, by the panel when its members resumed sitting.

The bullet shells, found during the inspection of the Lekki site by the panel led by Dorris Okuwobi, are expected to serve as an evidence to establishing the truth.

The shells were recovered in the presence of newsmen and the inspection was done alongside representatives of the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).


Dorris Okuwobi, the Chairman of the Panel, adjourned the session till Tuesday, November 3, and said the panel would pay an unscheduled visit to a place she did not disclose.

The Army has come under attack and condemnation from Nigerians after a viral video which surfaced on the internet showed that military men opened fire on unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate last Tuesday, October 20.

In a statement released by its Acting Deputy PRO, Osoba Olaniyi, on Tuesday, October 27, the Army debunked the allegations, and revealed the claims are from the hand work of mischief makers who will stop at nothing to tarnish it image.

It however stated that the Lagos State Government called on its intervention after a 24-hour curfew was declared in the State following series of violence and bloodshed that accompanied the protests which led to several police stations being burnt, and policemen killed.
