UPDATE: PRESIDENT KEITA RESIGNS FROM OFFICE
President of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita late on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020, resigned from his office.
This comes hours after mutinying soldiers seized him from his home following months of mass protests against alleged corruption and insecurity in the country.
Keita told ORTM, Mali's national broadcaster, that his resignation comes three years before his final term was due to end.
He also dissolved his Government and the National Assembly.
