ALERT: BOKO HARAM MOBILISING MEN TO FOIL IDP RESETTLEMENT PLANS
An intelligence report has revealed the plans by the Boko Haram terrorists to foil the September 26 planned return and resettlement of Internally Displaced persons (IDP) of Baga communities to their ancestral homes in Kukawa Local Government areas of Borno State.
The source which is familiar with the incident said the terrorists were spotted deploying numerous soldiers to lay ambush along the land and waterways of Baga axis.
Locations flagged include: Duguri, Madayi, Goni kime, Kangarwa, Dogun Chuku, Daban-Masara, according to the source.
This is coming after the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum inaugurated a 23-member committee for the relocation of Internally Displaced Persons of Baga communities to their ancestral homes in Kukawa LGA of the State.

Zulum had said the inauguration and relocation was sequel to the letter sent to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, demanding immediate resettlement of all IDPs of Baga commencing on September 26, 2020.
He had charged the committee to ensure the safe return of the IDPs, saying that the Government was doing everything possible to support them begin a new life.
Baga is a fishing community located on the fringes of Lake Chad which has been deserted for over two years due to activities of insurgents
Several attacks have been perpetrated on the regions by the anti-government group leading to loss of innocent lives of properties.

A huge number of Baga residents had fled their homes due to the uprise in attacks from Boko Haram insurgents.
In 2015, the terrorists eliminated security operatives, invaded the town and took over it.
The military however recovered the community but this hasn’t stopped the assailants from launching series of attacks on both the civilians and military in that region.
