Delta Police Launch Manhunt After Attack on Officers, Arrest Suspects

The Delta State Police Command has intensified security operations following an attack on police officers at the boundary between Akukwu-Igbo and Ugbolu communities in Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, tactical operatives were immediately deployed to the area to restore order and reassure residents. The swift response led to the arrest of several suspects linked to the incident during a sting operation.

Police sources said the arrested suspects are currently in custody and have provided useful information to aid ongoing investigations, as efforts continue to track down other individuals involved in the attack.

CP Adesola, in a strong warning, condemned the assault on officers, stressing that attacks on law enforcement personnel would not be tolerated under his leadership. He further declared that no extremist, secessionist, or violent group would be allowed to operate in Delta State, vowing decisive action against any threat to public peace.

The police command assured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies. Citizens were also encouraged to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of suspects still at large through the Control Room contact on 0803 668 4974 or other appropriate channels.
