DELTA STATE POLICE DISCREDITS FALSE REPORTS, UNRAVEL TRAGIC MURDER OF DSP SUNDAY OKOEBOR

In response to a misleading WhatsApp post circulating widely, alleging the demise of the PPRO Delta State Command, the police command vehemently refutes the false claims and urges the public to dismiss them.


Setting the record straight, the Command confirms the tragic incident involving DSP Sunday Okoebor, a member of the Command X-Squad, which happened on 28/11/2023 at around 0330 hours. The late officer fell victim to armed robbers who, disguised as EFCC operatives, invaded his apartment. Upon discovering his identity as a police officer, they fatally shot him in the head. 


Reacting promptly, Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Wale Abass, deployed tactical teams to apprehend the suspects. By 0630 hours on the same day, Operation Delta Hawk, the Command's Joint Security Outfit, successfully arrested eight suspects who confessed to the act and the murder of DSP Sunday Okoebor.


Expressing condolences on behalf of the command, Commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass assures the late officer's family of justice.


The public is cautioned against spreading unfounded news and encouraged to seek clarification directly from the command before disseminating information to the media.
