FCT Police Recover 19 Stolen Vehicles, Urge Owners to Strengthen Security Measures

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully recovered 19 stolen vehicles taken from various locations across the territory between January and February 2025. The recovered vehicles were tracked down in Jos, Niger, Kaduna, and within the FCT.


The distribution of recovered vehicles across different police divisions and units is as follows: Maitama Division – 1 vehicle, Mpape Division – 3 vehicles, Bwari Division – 1 vehicle, Central Police Station – 2 vehicles, Trademore Division – 2 vehicles, Mabushi Division – 2 vehicles, Anti-Car Theft Unit – 1 vehicle, Utako Division – 2 vehicles, Gwarimpa Division – 1 vehicle, Durumi Division – 2 vehicles, and Kubwa Division – 2 vehicles.


The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, psc, reassured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property. He urged vehicle owners to adopt proactive security measures, including the installation of tracking devices to aid swift recovery in case of theft. Additionally, he advised vehicle owners to enhance their security by using steering wheel locks, pedal locks, alarm systems, and immobilizers. Residents are also encouraged to avoid parking in isolated areas, remain vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious activities.


The FCT Police Command remains steadfast in its fight against car theft and other criminal activities, ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
