GUNMEN KILL ONE, ABDUCT TWO IN BENUE STATE
No fewer than two persons were abducted on 3rd July 2023, and one community guard killed following an attack by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in Ugba community, Logo LGA, Benue State.
The information available indicates that the gunmen invaded the community around 1500hrs, and proceeded to a fuel station where they robbed their victims of their valuables including mobile phones, cash and two cars.
During the attack, the gunmen killed one of the Benue State Volunteer Guards in the Ugba community, before they abducted an educationist and a woman in the town. They also shot another State Volunteer Guards who was trying to stop them from escaping at the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, the injured operative has been taken to the general hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
