HOODLUMS LAUNCH MAYHEM IN KANO, INJURE TWO POLICEMEN
Two officers from the Kano State Police Command were injured during the mayhem unleashed by suspected hoodlums at Yan Dillalai and Jaen Makera's quarters in the Kano metropolis.
According to available information, on June 19, 2024, groups of hoodlums engaged in street fighting, wielding dangerous weapons, and later targeted innocent people in the streets without acknowledging the presence of police.
Unfortunately, one innocent person, Muktar Garba, was seriously injured by the hoodlums and later died in the hospital. Additionally, the hoodlums injured two police operatives identified as SC Wasilu Umar and PC Abdulmalik Yusif and destroyed a vehicle attached to Filin Hockey. The duo were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and have since been discharged.
Consequently, a suspect was arrested among the hoodlums for attacking Abdulmalik Yusif, one of the police operatives.
Meanwhile, the police have restored peace in the streets, while efforts are being intensified to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
