Military Bombards Jilli Enclave, Neutralises Scores, Foils Terror Plot
The Air Component of Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has carried out a successful precision airstrike on a major terrorist enclave and logistics hub near Jilli in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents.
The operation, executed on April 11, 2026, followed sustained Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions over the Bindul–Jilli axis, a known corridor for movements by ISWAP fighters and their collaborators.
Military authorities said the strike was based on credible intelligence indicating the movement of gun trucks and motorcycles converging at the location. The targets were confirmed through multiple intelligence sources before air assets conducted coordinated strikes, destroying vehicles, logistics supplies, and key structures within the enclave.
Post-strike assessments revealed that several terrorists were killed, while others fled the area. The operation also disrupted planned attacks, as intelligence indicated that the group had been preparing logistics for coordinated assaults on troop positions within the Gubio axis.
The development follows earlier incidents linked to the same network, including an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack in January along the Bindul route that killed eight soldiers, as well as recent attacks in Ngamdu and Benisheik.
In a related development, a suspected logistics courier identified as “Turja Bulu” was arrested on April 12 in Ngamdu. Preliminary findings indicate he was involved in recent attacks and had been tasked with supplying materials to terrorist groups operating within the Magumeri–Gubio area.
Military authorities described the operation as a significant blow to terrorist logistics networks, reaffirming their commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgents and denying them freedom of movement across the North-East.
