NIGERIA CONTINUES PLANS TO INOCULATE CITIZENS WITH ASTRAZENECA VACCINES DESPITE HEALTH CONCERNS
The Nigerian government has assured citizens of the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine, continuing plans to inoculate citizens with the vaccines despite growing concerns.
Three European Countries- Germany, France, and Italy on Monday joined the growing list of countries who have suspended the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine over reports of blood clotting.
Germany decided to halt the rollout following the detection of seven cases of blood clots in the brain.

The Netherland Government on Sunday paused the administration of the vaccines, following reports of blood clots in Norway and Denmark.
Although the Dutch health ministry said it had not established a direct link between the vaccine and the blood clot, and no side effect has been recorded in the Netherlands, the Government said it would wait for the outcome of the Investigations by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

However, the Nigerian Government which recently received almost four million doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca has assured its citizens that it has tested the vaccine and they are safe to use, echoing the view of the World Health Organisation.
The vaccine has been distributed to 36 states of the Federation except for Kogi State.
