COURT REMANDS SUSPECTED KILLERS OF THE HUNGARIAN WIFE OF MAERSK NIGERIA MANAGING DIRECTOR

A Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere has remanded two suspects linked to the murder of Bernadette Tohouo, the Hungarian wife of the managing director of Maersk Nigeria Limited.

The suspects, Olamilekan Goke Oke, 33 and Akande Adeyinka, 27, were arraigned before Justice Modupe Nico-Clay on eight counts for conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and rape.

The prosecutor led by Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, said the defendants, a technician and printer respectively, committed these offences at the residence of Gildas Tohouo-Tohouo on December 8, 2019, at about 7;30 pm.

The Attorney General alleged that the defendants broke into Flat 7a Luggard Avenue, Ikoyi where they killed 44-year-old Bernadette Tohouo-Tohouo by suffocating her to death with a pillow.

Olamilekan Oke was also charged with the rape of Bernadette.

The defendants pled not guilty to the charges read to them.

The court adjourned the case to June 30 and July 1 while the defendants were returned to the Ikoyi Correctional Centre where they had been since their arrest last year.
